Historical, yet practical ;)

Awesome historical book on what people did at home before conventional medicine took over (circa early 1900's). I love the raw, unfiltered remedies that shed insight on wacky cures that we've all heard of (if only I could find some fresh snake oil!) as well as some I sure hadn't (turpentine?). For anyone questioning running to the doctor and getting prescriptions for colds, flues, infections and the like, this is a fun book with many harmless home remedies to try (onions make many appearances.)
