About the Author
Sylvia Loehken is an introvert and a highly in-demand coach and speaker who specializes in how introverts can make an impact in the workplace. Having originally been a rather fearful public speaker herself, in 2012 she was named "Speaker of the Year" in Germany. She works with many of Europe's leading companies and institutions such as Berlin Regional Bank, Vienna University of Economics and Business, and University of Hamburg.

If you want to understand how people tick, read this book!

Did you know that much of your character, behaviour and relationship to other people has to do with being more introvert or extrovert? This book is a revelation!
Based on scientific research and long experience as a coach, Löhken explains in simple words what are typical traits of extroverts and introverts and how this plays a key role in human interaction and different situations in life. However, she does not just put the reader in one box or the other: Most people have both introvert and extrovert characteristics, but might find themselves more on one side of the scale or the other. The book is written with a lot of humour, examples and even personal anecdotes which makes it fun to read and work with. And - the most important thing - there is no judgement about intoverts and extroverts. Both are equally valuable to society and professional life. But introverts are sometimes underestimated or, even though they present the majority of the population, remain unseen.
Being introvert, acording to Loehken, does not mean being shy, uncertain or unable to communicate. Instead, introverts are described as persons who, besides other typical character features, are very independent and who need some time for themselves to recharge the batteries" after social gatherings, busy meetings or noisy business trips. On the other hand, introverts have certain typical qualities which they can learn to make use of in a strategic manner. And this is what the book is about.
The book is relevant to "intros" and "extros" alike as both "groups" will better understand themselves and others. I highly recommend Quiet Impact to everyone who is interested in fully exploiting their personal potential and improving their relationship with others.
The theory is always accompanied by exercises and tests which help to find out if you are more introvert or extrovert, what qualities and potential obstacles you may have and how you could deal with them. Do those exercises, you will be surprised about yourself! Loehken's approach is applied to private life, relationship with youself, your friends, your partner and your family, but is also and especially relevant in professional settings. No matter if you are in a leading position and want to manage your team in a more efficient way or if you're an employee that wants a pay raise, this book makes yo understand why people behave like they do and how this can be dealt with in a way that satisfies all parties.
