I think it's useful, but if you buy it

I think overall this book is ok. It does not contain any new materials than the usual stuff, but you can still learn and practice from it. However, from the practice section, I noticed that the editors sometimes give us the wrong answer. I did the practice questions right, and the answer sheet tells me it's wrong. And after I check the explanation I found out that it's the book's problem, not mine. It gives me the wrong answer. Generally, I think it's useful, but if you buy it, please check the answer page because you might be right.

This is a massive, detailed book that seeks to lift the lid on the world of brand psychology, explaining why customers can be immensely loyal and trusting of certain brands, especially when seeded by positive vibes through corporate social responsibility and ethical transparency programmes.
Make no mistake, this is not a quick read. Twenty-two detailed chapters cover this incredibly interesting world, as viewed from both customer and brand perspective. The science behind our behaviour is examined in minute detail, challenging along the way some preconceptions and common understandings. All of this knowledge is backed up by case studies and advice from neuropsychologists, economists and industry participants.
If there is one criticism it is just that the book can be too overwhelming. You have to put it down, take a break and continue at a later stage. The poor old brain just can’t cope with this flood of information within a long-march sequential read, so the book being broken down into so many chapters is a good thing. A very detailed index at the end also helps the reader, so you can deep-dive into the book to find a piece of specific information as you wish. It appears that the book doesn’t include citations and further reading suggestions as would benefit a reference book suitable for academic research (although this was a pre-release review book but there was no suggestion that such a chapter was “to follow”.)
The book’s internal design and navigational elements left a fair bit to be desired. It seemed to be a bit of an unorthodox mix that did not really help the reader. With a book of this size and complexity, each and every aid should be seized upon with gusto.
Yet considering the material covered, the author has done a great job and produced a highly informative, interesting, enjoyable and addictive book.

It appears that Dr. Kanovitz has outdone herself again. As a professor of constitutional law, and former user of her previous editions, the 14th Edition of Constitutional Law for Criminal Justice does not disappoint. As in her previous editions, this volume appears current and tailor made for the undergraduate student; particularly in the area of criminal justice; and specifically in the application of procedural criminal law. Of immense value to new students reviewing court cases for the first time is the inclusion of a case citation guide and sample case citations. Highly recommended.

Kanovitz’s Constitutional Law for Criminal Justice text is an excellent companion to teaching traditional or online courses. Kanovitz walks the students through the complexities of Constitutional Law with relevant case law and modern applications. I have used Jacqueline Kanovitz’s very fine textbook, Constitutional Law for Criminal Justice, for several years as the required text for my constitution law and criminal justice classes at Troy University. The book presents the subject in a clear and understandable way and certainly enhances and supplements my course lectures. Constitutional Law for Criminal Justice is written with the student in mind. About the Author

Jacqueline Kanovitz is an Emeritus Professor of the Brandeis School of Law where she taught for thirty years and served as Associate Dean for Student Affairs. She also taught at other law schools. She holds a J.D. (summa cum laude) from the University of Louisville School of Law. She is the recipient of numerous awards for teaching and writing excellence and has been a co-author of this textbook since the first edition in 1968.

If You're Studying On Your Own, Steer Clear

This offers very little in the way of explanation. If you truly struggle with math or even with specific concepts (like geometry) this book is not for you. A small paragraph is provided to explain something and if you don't grasp it from that, you are stuck referring to other books or using the web to research it. Also, I found a few errors in the Answers section. This could definitely add to the confusion for anyone that's not an A+ math student. I was very frustrated by how often I had to refer to something else for the information I needed.

That being said, this book seems like it would be well-suited to a GED prep class with an instructor explaining before the work is being done. For my purposes, this book was a waste of money.

Not a fan.

I'm not a big fan of this book. I bought this because I was taking a class that required it, but as far as a teaching guide, I don't think it's very good. It's ok, but it doesn't do much explaining which if you don't have any experience doing these kinds of problems can be an issue. If you want a teaching guide I'd look elsewhere, especially for the premium price.

Edit: My original review of this book (above) will remain untouched but I'd like to address something. I've gotten 2 unhelpful marks on my review of this book, and I don't know what more people want me to say. I'll say this, this book pretty much cost me $25. and I didn't take much from it at all. The explanations are very brief, and it's also all over the place with it's teachings. It jumps around from pre-algebra to algebra 2 to algebra and back again and so on. So again, it's not a good teaching guide, period end of story! I honestly think the unhelpful marks against me are either from publishers or fans of the book because no one in my class (20 or so students) liked it. On the other hand I bought this book http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0071824979/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (McGraw-Hill Education Preparation for GED Test) for $14. and actually took a lot more from it's math section. Also, after my classmates saw and looked over my McGraw-Hill book more than a few went ahead and bought one for themselves. True story! This book is lucky I gave it 3 stars, but I figure if someone has experience with math then they might feel it's actually a solid book. But not me, especially not for the price. Done.

steck-vaugn ged books for 2014

When you use this book, You should all so use the student workbook first. It will tell you how to do it better. The student edition mathematical does not let you do that much work. The workbook lets you work on 2 to 3 pages. The other book only let you work on 1page. The books I love. they will help you with the GED.
